So here’s the deal, I thought I’d warn you all before I go into a Final’s Induced Coma that I won’t be posting for the next few weeks until I’m done with school and finally on break. I’m sure the 3 of you who read my blog (Hi mom) are all distraught at this news but fear not, I promise I’ll make it up to you guys once I’m finally home and can post some decent content. With that said, this week’s post is just going to be a little update on my life before I have to say goodbye to everyone in order to cram for the 5 finals coming up.

So something super exciting (and also very bittersweet) is happening next semester. I’m happy to tell you all that I’m going to be an RA for a freshman dorm starting in January. It’s all happened very fast because I am replacing the current RA who will be studying abroad and they needed a quick replacement. Since I know a few people in the Residence Life department and they knew I was thinking about becoming an RA next year, they were kind enough to think of me whilst scrambling to find someone new. I’m so excited to have the opportunity to meet a whole bunch of new people, make crafty bulletin boards, and help my residents.

With that said, it’s also fairly bittersweet because I have to move out of my room and away from my bestest buddy. It was a tough decision to make, leaving her and all of our late night cramming sessions and spontaneous movie nights. I know it’s not like I’m to Antarctica or anything but I am leaving my “other half” as our friends like to say and it feels similar to losing an entire limb. I’m not entirely sure how I’m going to survive without her. So Kir, if you are reading this, I hope you understand that although I’ll be living on South Campus with all the Freshman, there is a huge possibility (actually it’s more of a certainty) that I’ll be spending every waking hour back in your room. I’m going to buy a blow-up mattress and so I’ll probably be sleeping on your floor more than I will be sleeping in my own bed. Be prepared.

Also, with Christmas fast approaching I found a little bit of time to put up our Christmas lights around the room. Kir and I also broke out the tree and spent an hour fluffing up the branches and throwing on some cute little gold bells. It’s so nice to look up from studying for an Anatomy exam to see the beautiful lights and the tree and just be able to take a deep breath and remember that break is only a few days away.

I thought I’d throw in a nice little flatlay of my desk. The key to a successful study session is a cup of tea, some Christmas music, and remembering that the pain will all be over soon.

So I’ll say goodbye to you all now, I suppose. Have a wonderful few weeks and if you are in school like I am I wish you all the luck on finals and whatnot leading up to the holidays! I’ll catch you on the flip side!

Happy Friday!
