Welcome November. Oh, how I have been waiting for you.
I decided to do a little post on my Autumn Essentials because, why not? Autumn is coming to an end and we are tiptoeing into the winter months. It’s the type of season where you can break out the golds and deep berry reds (go Gryffindor) and can cuddle up under warm blankets with mugs of tea and reflect on the past year. So as I reflect on this past autumn, I thought I would share some of my favorite little fall accessories that I’ve fallen (lol get it) in love with. I hope you like them as much as I do!
My two favorite things of all time are this Mary Kay rust colored nail polish and Estee Lauder Lip Gloss. I know in some of the early pictures the nail polish looks a bit redder than it actually is, (which is my fault for being crap at lighting) but I promise you that it’s a beautiful golden orange-y color that reminds me of Thanksgiving desserts and warm fires. The muted orange vibes add a bit of color and work great with any autumnal berry colors or warm neutrals. Now I have a disclaimer to make…I can’t find this color anywhere. I’m not sure how long I’ve had this polish, but obviously it’s been long enough for me to spend hours searching for another bottle and come up empty-handed. The closest I’ve come to finding a similar color is Orly Color Blast Luxe Shimmer Nail Polish in Amber, which I got at Kohl’s for around $7 (I’ll leave a link for it below). If anyone knows where I can get this Mary Kay nail polish, please let me know because I’m totally in love and desperate to find some more before I run out!
Also pictured above is my favorite lip-gloss of all time! It’s called ‘Pure Color’ High Intensity Lip Lacquer by Estee Lauder in the color Liquid Petal. It is this nude-y pink with a bit of gold shimmer that makes your lips look sooo soft. It’s not super flashy and has the perfect amount of tint to it that it makes your lips look nice and rosy, but in a lovely, understated way.
Now, I’m not usually one to wear a lot of gold jewelry because of my lovely paler-than-death skin tone, but this fall I’ve fallen in love with mixing metals. I got this beautiful watch from ASOS (link below) and I absolutely love it! It has that classic-but-casual feel with an elegantly simple watch face.
Right above the watch is my new favorite necklace. As you guys have probably caught on, I love simplicity, but I also love a little bit of bling too. This necklace is a perfect blend of the two as it’s small and slightly understated, but it has a beautiful white crystal in the center that adds a bit of shimmer. It was part of a set I got (also from Kohl’s) and tend to find myself wearing it alone rather than layering it like it was meant to be. With that said, I love the whole set too. I think layering simple necklaces together is such a cool way to spice up a casual tee shirt or sweater. Right now Kohl’s has a sale on a bunch of their layered necklaces so go check it out (link below)!
I also wear a lot of bangles from Alex and Ani. The one above was a gift from my aunts for high school graduation. The intricate knot is called the PATH OF LIFE charm and the meaning behind it serves as a beautiful daily reminder to experience life.
“The PATH OF LIFE symbol is representative of an infinite number of possibilities and expressions of love. Illustrating life’s twists, turns, and unexpected winds, wear the PATH OF LIFE Charm to proudly celebrate your own willingness to travel towards life’s fruitful moments”. –Alex and Ani
The second set of bangles are the silver ones on the left. These are so special to me because a dear friend, Grandma Mary, gave them to me when I finally got the chance to meet her on a trip to Hawaii. I wear them almost everyday and love that they connect me to her. A simple bangle is such an easy accessory to wear and totally ramp up your look.
So there you have it. These are the accessories that made the cut! I’m sure I’ll be posting again soon with some of my other favorites that didn’t make it this month so don’t fret! Do you guys have any favorite fall accessories? Any recommendations for Winter Must-Haves I should check out as we creep into the colder months? Let me know!
